Puppy Classes      7 weeks   $90.00

Class Description:
Puppies from 10 weeks to 5 months. Your puppy will learn basic commands such as sit, down and stay. The puppy will learn to walk nicely on leash and come when called. Help will be given on problems such jumping up on people, mouthing, housebreaking, barking, nail trimming, grooming and crate training. The puppy will spend time socializing with other people and dogs. The dogs will get to socialize with other dogs in a controlled environment during  supervised play periods. The puppies will get a chance to be exposed to a few agility obstacles such as a tunnel and tilting board.

Advanced Puppy Classes      6 weeks          $90.00

Class Description: Continue the fun! Turn loose lead walking into heeling, extend the stays.  Prerequisite of Puppy Class. Confidence-building sessions for both pet and owner. The puppies learn to handle obstacles such as rails on the ground, go through a hoop and some exposure to dog tunnel.  You’ll also work on better and longer stays, wait at the door, recall, and heel on lead.

Class Description:

Canine Good Citizenship Classes      6 weeks        $90.00

Class Description:
Train your dog to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. The exercises are good for general training. Dogs will be worked keeping the ten parts of the Canine Good Citizenship test in mind: Exercises include:  Accepting a friendly stranger; Sitting politely for petting; Allowing basic grooming procedures; Walking on a loose lead; Walking thru a crowd; Sitting and lying down on command and staying in one place; recalls; applied  distractions; socializing with other dogs; calmly enduring separation from owner. Heeling, figure eights, about turns, right and left turns, doodling and recalls are demonstrated and taught in class.

Class Description:

The dog and handler team move continuously through a rally course of 10-20 signs with the dog at the handler's left side. At each numbered sign they perform the indicated exercise then move to the next sign. Unlimited communication is encouraged - the handler can talk to the dog and give multiple commands and signals. Scoring is less rigorous than traditional obedience.

  • Advanced, a set of exercises performed off-leash that includes at least one jump; and

  • Excellent, a more difficult off-leash course that includes at least one jump and demonstrates more precise skill and coordination between the dog and handler.

Class Description:

Utility Class involves 6 exercises:

1st Exercise is called the Signal Exercise.
2nd & 3rd Exercises are called Scent Discrimination.
4th Exercise is the Directed Retrieve.
5th Exercise is The Moving Stand.
6th Exercise is Directed Jumping.

 

Novice & Open Combined Class

Class Description:  Novice
This is the first level of competition where the dog is judged on his ability to walk at heel with the handler on and off leash, stand and stay for a cursory examination by the judge, and come to the handler when called.

Class Description:  Open
All exercises in the open class are done off-lead, including a heeling pattern and figure eight, drop on recall, retrieve on the flat and over a high jump, a broad jump, and group exercises (three-minute sit-stay, five minute down-stay) with the handler out of the ring.
